BIRD STATION INSTALLED AT THỐNG NHẤT PARK (HÀ NỘI) FOR WILDLIFE RESEARCH
A bird-sound monitoring station utilising artificial intelligence has been on a small island called Hoà Bình in Thống Nhất Park (Hà Nội), designed solely to record and update data online. This forms part of the park’s biodiversity enhancement programme, implemented by the Thống Nhất Park Management Board in collaboration with Think Playgrounds, within the framework of the ‘ALP – Biodiversity for a Healthy City’ research project for 2025–2026. A previous activity within this research programme involved the relocation of all feral cats on Hoà Bình Island to help rebalance the biodiversity in the park.

INDOOR PLAYGROUND AT KOALA HOUSE TỐ HỮU KINDERGARTEN (HÀ NỘI)
Located in a densely populated residential area of Hà Nội with limited outdoor space, Think Playgrounds has introduced an innovative solution at the Koala House Kindergarten – Tố Hữu campus, specifically designed to optimise the school’s space. A continuous play complex has been created within the atrium, surrounded by classrooms’ corridors, transforming the once-conventional play space into a vibrant ‘miniature park’.
THINK PLAYGROUNDS SHARES EXPERIENCE IN TRANSFORMING PUBLIC SPACES WITH UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME STUDENTS
Under the theme ‘Urbanisation, Informality, and Everyday Design: Reclaiming Public Spaces for Play and Eco-Education in Việt Nam — Case study of the Red River Project’, Think Playgrounds’ representatives held a session with students from the University of Notre Dame (USA) to discuss the issues arising from rapid urbanisation in Việt Nam, which has led to a shortage of public spaces essential for the physical and mental development of the community, particularly children. This was also an opportunity for Think Playgrounds to call on young people — students, artists and architects — to join forces in tackling social and environmental issues through creative solutions for inclusive and sustainable urban design and development.
REVITALISING URBAN GREEN SPACES: THINK PLAYGROUNDS’ PRACTICES
Think Playgrounds’ Executive Director — architect Chu Kim Đức spoke to the Nông nghiệp và Môi trường (Agriculture and Environment) newspaper about redefining urban green spaces and enhancing people’s connection with nature in the context of limited land availability in cities, sharing Think Playgrounds’ experience in implementing numerous projects to create green spaces for the community.

THINK PLAYGROUNDS ATTENDS CREATIVE MATCHING FAIR AS PART OF HÀ NỘI CREATIVE FESTIVAL 2026
During the recent ‘Creative Matching Fair’, the opening event to a series of activities connecting artisans, craft villages, designers, artists, and the creative community as part of the Hà Nội Creative Design Festival 2026, Think Playgrounds’ Co-Founder and Creative Director Nguyễn Tiêu Quốc Đạt took part in the matching session — a gathering where artisans, designers, and creatives met to exchange ideas and explore new collaboration opportunities.
‘PROTECTING CHILDHOOD SPACES IN THE CITY’ CAMPAIGN
A group of foreign students had a meaningful trip to Hà Nội’s age-old Bắc Cầu Village (particularly in Residential Group No 38 Ngọc Thuỵ, Bồ Đề Ward), to assist with the creation and handover of a new playground project combining creative art. This was part of Think Playgrounds’ campaign ‘Protecting childhood spaces in the city’ which aims to maintain friendly, safe, and creative play spaces, and ensure the Right to Play for all children with the cooperation and long-term support from the whole community.
