Think Playgrounds is proud to become one of 12 finalists of the ‘Active Play Challenge 2026’ competition! Our initiative aims to promote sustainable urban design skills by training young architects to create green and inclusive playgrounds in Hà Nội, where rapid urbanisation often overlooks children’s needs and perspectives.

As part of the waste recycling programme in the Red River bank forest parks and ecological trail that aims to reduce litter in the environment and help promote urban biodiversity, Think Playgrounds and its partners together with local communities conducted consultation and in-depth training sessions on waste recycling, whilst clearing the designated site for a pilot waste collection point located next to the Dragon playground. In the next step, households will practise sorting waste directly at the collection point to reinforce and put the knowledge they have acquired into practice.

A group of staff and employees from Ford Việt Nam recently undertook a meaningful initiative to support a disadvantaged community residing along the Red River, where they worked together to clean up and improve the living spaces and play areas for the children and residents there. Around 50 volunteers split into groups with different tasks: assembling wall panels; repairing steel pontoon bridges for households with elderly people; clearing the site, repainting play equipment, and adding new toys made from recycled materials to the communal playgrounds.

The Lion Playground continues its journey across the country! The next stop for this dynamic lion character is Lê Mạnh Trinh Primary School in Hoằng Lộc Commune, Thanh Hoá Province. Designed and built by Think Playgrounds, the playground integrates the sponsor Generali Việt Nam’s brand message with a spirit of creative play, forming part of The Human Safety Net Việt Nam’s campaign to support the holistic development of young children.

Ethical Bridge is a curated global directory of grassroots organisations working towards community development, having brought together over 1,400 of them in more than 130 countries across 15 impact areas.

As part of the ‘Living with the Rivers’ (Vivre avec les fleuves) project, funded by the French Embassy in Việt Nam and the French Institute in Việt Nam (Institut français du Vietnam), Think Playgrounds has begun work on clearing rubbish and constructing water filtration dams in an area near the Chương Dương Bridge (Hà Nội). The next phase of the project is expected to involve planting semi-aquatic plant species in this marshland area to help improve the quality of the wastewater before it flows into the Red River.

With the aim of creating a creative, inclusive, and wholesome play space for the children of Bình Thạnh Hamlet (Bình Khánh Commune, Hồ Chí Minh City), CBRE Việt Nam as the sponsor recently collaborated with Think Playgrounds and the Bình Khánh Commune Women’s Union to carry out the construction and handover of a brand-new playground within the grounds of the hamlet’s community centre. The empty courtyard at the community centre has been transformed into an attractive place, not only for children but also for local residents to gather, socialise, and strengthen community bonds.
