FOREIGN VOLUNTEERS SUPPORT LANDSCAPE RENOVATION IN RED RIVERBANK AREAS (HÀ NỘI)
EXO Travel collaborated with Think Playgrounds to coordinate a group of volunteers from France in renovating the community spaces at Chương Dương Forest Park and Phúc Tân Forest Park on the Red River south bank. Taking place over five different days, the activity was attended by approximately 40 to 50 volunteers each day. Under the guidance of Think Playgrounds and the company of the locals, the volunteer group was divided into several teams with different tasks, where they installed bamboo fences and recycled wooden benches, planted new trees, repaired playgrounds, and refurbished community gardens and insect houses. This has helped maintain safe and sustainable spaces for the local children and residents.
BVIS HÀ NỘI STUDENTS WORK TOGETHER TO IMPROVE LANDSCAPE FOR RIVERSIDE NEIGHBOURHOOD
A group of students from the British Vietnamese International School (BVIS) Hà Nội, under the guidance of Think Playgrounds, local residents, and school teachers, took part in a range of practical activities aimed at improving the living spaces for a riverside community along the Red River. Over two days of enthusiastic work, they cleared weeds and rubbish along the shared pathway, installed solar-powered lights, and set up and decorated benches made from wood and recycled tyres on the shared ground. These actions helped transform the landscape in a positive way, as the shared space has become cleaner, more spacious, and more attractive for the locals to come for rest and meeting, thereby bringing the community closer together. These regular activities have directly contributed to supporting underprivileged people while also providing a valuable opportunity for the students to develop a sense of social responsibility, skills, and personal character through meaningful actions.
MEDICINAL GARDEN IN BA VÌ COMMUNE (HÀ NỘI) INAUGURATED TO BRING PEOPLE TOGETHER
With support from Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation, a medicinal garden has been created as a collaboration between Đom Đóm Permaculture and Think Playgrounds’ expertise and the labour of some students from the United Nations International School (UNIS) Hà Nội, aiming to provide a peaceful destination for disadvantaged children so that they can rediscover balance through connecting with nature. UNIS students and a group of children from Blue Dragon worked together on various tasks: building the garden, laying bricks and filling soil and gravel for the paths, and planting 17 varieties of medicinal herbs that are useful for human healthcare. The garden offers not only a cool, fresh green space but also represents a profoundly meaningful initiative. It is expected to be an ideal place for children to relax, learn about medicinal plants, and utilise herbal remedies for healthcare and daily life.
THREE INITIATIVES BY THINK PLAYGROUNDS & PARTNERS SELECTED FOR HÀ NỘI CREATIVE DESIGN FESTIVAL 2026!
The Organising Board of the Hà Nội Creative Design Festival 2026 has officially announced the selection of 70 initiatives for the programme. Among them are three projects initiated and implemented by Think Playgrounds in collaboration with our valued partners, namely:
1. ‘Urban Ecological Education Tour – The Red River Bank Ecological Route’, in collaboration with the Hà Nội Association of Architects, Hồng Hà Ward (Hà Nội), and specialist organisations.
2. ‘Creative and Friendly Transport at Đồng Xuân Market Gate’, in collaboration with Đồng Xuân Joint Stock Company, HealthBridge Foundation of Canada, Heritage Art Space, and Hoàn Kiếm Ward (Hà Nội).
3. ‘Enhancing Biodiversity at Thống Nhất Park’, in collaboration with Thống Nhất Park Co., Ltd., Hai Bà Trưng Ward (Hà Nội), the ALP Program by LIXIL Việt Nam, and other specialist organisations.

INAUGURATION OF ‘PLAY HUTS’ AT HÀ NỘI BOOK STREET
Picenza Việt Nam officially launches the playground concept called ‘Chòi Chơi’ (Play Huts) at the Hà Nội Book Street (19 Tháng 12 Street), in collaboration with Think Playgrounds social enterprise and the Management Board of the Hà Nội Book Street under the Cửa Nam Ward Centre for Culture, Information and Sports. The launch of the concept brings more child-friendly spaces for them to be active and learn about the world. Alongside the launching ceremony, a Play Day for children also took place, welcoming many families with young children to participate in loose-parts play involving eco-friendly and recycled toys that help encourage their creativity and imagination. This activity aimed to celebrate the Vietnamese Family Day (28 June) by creating a space to bring children, their families, and stakeholders together to promote the importance of play.
TAILORED PLAY SPACE AT THĂNG LONG ACADEMY PRESCHOOL HÀ ĐÔNG CAMPUS (HÀ NỘI)
As the Thăng Long Academy SDU Trần Phú Preschool (Hà Đông Ward, Hà Nội) has a rather unique location — occupying an entire floor of a mixed-use office and residential building, Think Playgrounds has delivered a comprehensive, ‘tailor-made’ solution that meets the school’s specific needs and practical conditions. The play area comprises a climbing frame and a slide, alongside a wooden-floored reading corner combined with climbing steps, designed to optimise the available space and foster reading habits in the school’s children whilst supporting their physical development.
CHIẾN DỊCH ‘BẢO VỆ KHÔNG GIAN TUỔI THƠ TRONG THÀNH PHỐ’
Think Playgrounds has recently supported Bắc Cầu Village residents in Residential Group No 34 Ngọc Thuỵ of Bồ Đề Ward (Hà Nội) in renovating the community playground, with the funding raised by the Dutch Business Association Việt Nam (DBAV). The activity is a part of our campaign ‘Protecting childhood spaces in the city’ in which we strive to maintain friendly, safe, and creative play spaces, and ensure the Right to play for all children with the cooperation and long-term support from the whole community.
